As the House takes up tax
cuts, the Senate will take on competing health
care reform proposals, one named The Patients'
Bill of Rights and the other named The Patients'
Bill of Rights Plus Act.
The Patients'
Bill of Rights, introduced by Sen. Ted Kennedy,
D-Mass., would expand the ability of patients to
sue their health plan and expose employers to
greater liability. It would also introduce more
mandates on coverage, increasing the cost of
health care. The high cost of health care is
already the number one concern of small business
owners.
