in each state. 22 states responded to these surveys with 1999 EHDI data.
Most states were unable to respond to all the questions that were asked.

3. Number Referred for Audiologic Evaluation

The total number
of infants from Number 2 (2A + 2B) who are referred from initial or multiple
screenings for audiologic evaluation. A diagnostic audiologic evaluation
is defined as the use of a battery of audiometric procedures to determine
type of hearing loss by obtaining frequency and intensity specific information
for each ear.
