WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jim Ramstad (R-MN) was presented the "Legislator of the Year Award" by the National Mental Health Association (NMHA) at its annual conference in Washington.

In presenting the award, NMHA President Michael M. Faenza said, "Rep. Ramstad has championed substance abuse parity legislation in a courageous fashion, and the mental health community greatly admires Ramstad’s intense commitment to end discrimination against those with addiction disorders."

In addition to Ramstad, awards were given to Senators Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) and John Chafee (R-RI), as well as Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH).
