SUMMARY:
Committee Serial No. 106-140. Hearing before the Subcom on Health and Environment to consider H.R. 4807, the Ryan White CARE Act Amendments of 2000, to extend and revise HHS programs providing health care and support services for individuals with AIDS and HIV infections.
 
Includes provisions to:
   a. Expand CARE Act health care and support services to patients diagnosed with HIV who have not yet contracted AIDS.
   b. Establish supplemental grants to meet HIV health care and support needs in metropolitan, rural, and low-income areas not eligible for awards under existing grant program.
   c. Authorize funds for State activities related to reducing perinatal HIV transmission.
