SUMMARY:
Committee Serial No. 106-111. Hearing before the Subcom on Human Resources to examine medicaid enrollment decline associated with the replacement of the AFDC program with the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program in 1996, and to review Federal and State efforts to ensure that needy families with children obtain health insurance coverage under medicaid, the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), or other assistance programs after the parents leave the welfare system and enter the workforce (Subcom advisory, p. 2-3).
