bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Finance
A BILL
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to stabilize indirect
graduate medical education payments.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `Graduate Medical Education Payment
Restoration Act of 1999'.
SEC. 2. TERMINATION OF MULTIYEAR REDUCTION OF INDIRECT GRADUATE MEDICAL
EDUCATION PAYMENTS.
Section 1886(d)(5)(B)(ii) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C.
1395ww(d)(5)(B)(ii)) is amended--
(1) by adding `and' at the end of subclause (II); and
(2) by striking subclauses (III), (IV), and (V) and inserting the
following:
`(III) on or after October 1, 1998, `c' is equal to
1.6.'.
