HEADLINE: Coverage for
contraceptives imperative
BODY:
The Wisconsin bill to mandate health insurance coverage of
contraceptive medicines and devices needs to be passed. Mary
Matuska, state director of Pro-Life Wisconsin, in the May 29 Milwaukee Journal
Sentinel stated, "this legislation is not really about health care" and that
"birth control is not health care." Birth control, in all
contraceptive medicines and devices, is preventive health care.
It allows women the freedom to choose when to have a child, thus increasing the
likelihood that the child will be brought into an economically and emotionally
stable home.
The bill is not about abortion. It is about freedom from
economic hardship and the freedom to choose when to have a child.
With
the six-billionth earthling expected to be born on Oct. 12 of this year, and
with the continued abuse of our environment threatening to destroy any chance we
have of sustainable living on earth, it is imperative that health
insurance cover the costs of contraceptive
medicines and devices to women.
This measure will ensure that the health
of our present and future generations, beyond the 6 billion mark, continues.

presiding
judge Hassan Othman is carried out of the Justice Palace in Sidon,
the
provincial capital of southern Lebanon, on Tuesday. At least two gunmen
fired through the courtroom windows, killing three judges and the
