CONTRACTSARMYJohn W. Cates Construction Co. Inc., Russellville, Ky., was awarded on Jan. 20, 2000, a $5,418,754 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a single story facility for the Air Support Operations Squadron. The building will have reinforced concrete foundation and floor slabs, masonry walls, a roof system, a fire protection system, utilities, site work, landscaping, parking, and support facilities. Work will be performed at Fort Campbell, Ky. and is expected to be completed by July 13, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 149 bids solicited on Nov. 15, 1999, and nine bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville, Ky., is the contracting activity (DACA27-00-C-0058). Guild Associates Inc.*, Dublin, Ohio, was awarded on Jan. 20, 2000, a $5,034,432 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAD16-97-C-9222, for 13 Laundry Advanced System Production Units. Work will be performed in Dublin, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by Feb. 15, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were two bids solicited on Jan. 17, 1997 and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Soldier Biological Chemical Command, Natick, Mass., is the contracting activity. Allied Signal Engines, Phoenix, Ariz., was awarded on Jan. 24, 2000, a $23,346,000 firm-fixed-price contract for 18 engines (55-L-714A) for CH47D and Super-D Chinook aircraft for Taiwan. Work will be performed in Phoenix, Ariz. and is expected to be completed by Jan. 8, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on March 26, 1999. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH23-00-C-0043). R. C. Construction Co. Inc.*, Greenwood, Miss., was awarded on Jan. 24, 2000, an $8,624,193 firm-fixed-price contract to replace existing flexible and rigid pavement with new rigid pavement on a runway, cross taxiway and parallel taxiway. Work will be performed at Hurlburt Field, Fla., and is expected to be completed by Feb. 29, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 186 bids solicited on Aug. 24, 1999, and four bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile, Ala., is the contracting activity (DACA01-00-C-0002). General Dynamics Land Systems Inc., Sterling Heights, Mich., was awarded on Jan. 25, 2000, a $7,100,000 modification to cost-plus-fixed-fee contract DAAE07-96-C-X195, for options for system technical support for the Abrams Tank Program (M1A1-D). Work will be performed in Sterling Heights, Mich., and is expected to be completed by July 30, 2001. Of the total contract funds, $1,738,244 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Oshkosh Truck Corp., Oshkosh, Wis., was awarded on Jan. 26, 2000, a $37,418,620 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAE07-96-C-X159, to exercise the supplemental agreement for Palletized Load System Vehicles (118 trucks, M1075 and 125 trailers, M1076). Work will be performed in Oshkosh**, Wis. and is expected to be completed by Dec. 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Caterpillar, Defense & Federal Products, Mosseville, Ill., was awarded on Jan. 26, 2000, a $17,902,780 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAE07-95-D-X056, for 47 Deployable Universal Combat Earthmovers (DEUCE), 14 various tool sets, and operational and maintenance training. Raytheon Aircraft Co., Wichita, Kan., was awarded on Jan. 31, 2000, an $11,400,625 firm-fixed-price contract for two Beech Super King Air C-12R/AP (B200) Aircraft with special mission equipment provisions, one camera system, spares, additional avionics, publications, and training, for Greece. Work will be performed in Wichita, Kan., and is expected to be completed by July 16, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Nov. 30, 1999. The U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH23-00-C-0081). Oshkosh Truck Corp., Oshkosh, Wis., was awarded on Jan. 31, 2000, a $13,826,205 modification to firm-fixed-price contract DAAE07-95-C-X057, for 65 Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks (M985 cargo truck). Work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wis., and is expected to be completed by July 31, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on June 26, 1996. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity. Allied Signal Inc., Tempe, Ariz., was awarded on Jan. 31, 2000, a $7,696,381 firm-fixed-price contract for recuperater parts for the Automotive Gas Turbine 1500 engine: 84,000 plate pairs, 496 forward bellows, 443 aft bellows, and 461 mica plates. Each item also has a 100% option. Work will be performed in Anniston, Ala., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the World Wide Web on Aug. 30, 1999 and one bid was received. NAVYMotorola, Inc., Space and Systems Technology Group, Scottsdale, Ariz. is being awarded a not-to-exceed $47,743,264 delivery order under a previously awarded firm- fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity delivery order contract to exercise an option to build the U.S. Navy's digital modular radio (DMR). DMR is a non-developmental, software re-programmable radio that will meet the Navy's near-term requirements for high-frequency, very high-frequency, and ultra high-frequency radio communications used on ships, submarines, and at land-based communications facilities. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to approximately $368,000,000. Work will be performed in Scottsdale, Ariz., and is expected to be completed by September 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively procured through the Commerce Business Daily and on the contracting activities web page, with three offers received. The Space & Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N00039-98-D-0029). Rolls Royce Allison Engine Co., Indianapolis, Ind., is being awarded a $26,181,454 requirements contract for 98,713 turbine vanes in support of the T-56 engine used on C-130, E-2, and C-2 aircraft. This contract contains options which, if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $43,384,364. Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Ind., and is expected to be completed by January 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with two firms solicited, three offers received, and one offer was unsolicited. Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (N00383-00-D-003M). Evans and Sutherland Computer Corp., Salt Lake City, Utah, is being awarded a $12,955,356 firm-fixed-price delivery order against a previously issued U.S. Army basic ordering agreement for 66 image generators for use in the close combat tactical trainer for the U.S. Army. Work will be performed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is expected to be completed by June 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando, Fla., is the contracting activity (DAAJ09-96-G-0064). Lockheed Martin Corp., Federal Systems Owego Company, Owego, N.Y., is being awarded a $12,578,158 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-93-C-0196 to exercise an option for Phase II of the SH-60R multi-mission helicopter upgrade. This phase of the upgrade will combine new and modified subsystems to be integrated in the SH-60 aircraft to support offensive and defensive missions. Work will be performed in Owego, N.Y. (61%) and Sylmar, Calif. (39%), and is expected to be completed by November 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
