The Federal Communications Commission has chosen Indiana to be among the first states and territories in which low-power FM radio stations will be allowed to operate.

The 10-watt and 100-watt stations are intended to be run by municipalities, schools, churches, libraries, community groups and minority groups. The stations will be non-commercial and operate throughout the FM band.
