Mission Statement

The Microradio Implementation Project is a national initiative to assist faith groups, community organizations, multicultural/multiracial populations, linguistic groups, and other non-profit civil sectors or municipally minded entities in establishing non-commercial low power FM stations. Operated under auspices of the United Church of Christ, with special support from the Ford Foundation, the project is collaborating with numerous national and regional organizations to accompany organizations through the licensing process to actual implementation of the radio project. Special collaboration on legal counsel is being offered by the Media Access Project in Washington D.C., with whom the UCC has worked for nearly three decades. Faith partners in the low power FM radio initiative include the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church (USA), the National Council of Churches, The U.S. Catholic Conference, the Catholic Communication Campaign, the Muslim Educational Trust, among others.
