Low-Power Radio The Federal Communications Commission voted today to create new low-power FM radio licenses. The commission hopes to encourage diversity in the programming that's available by giving those licenses to community groups, churches and schools. NPR and the National Association of Broadcasters are among those who have opposed the licenses. NPR has said it fears the new low power signals will interfere with current stations. (4:00) |
