Key Manufacturing Vote Card - Small Business Tax Fairness Act (H.R. 3832)

March 9, 2000

Dear Representative:

On behalf of the 14,000 members of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), including approximately 10,500 small manufacturers, I urge you to vote "yea" on H.R. 3832, the Small Business Tax Fairness Act of 2000, which is scheduled to be on the House floor today.

This legislation includes several of manufacturing’s top pro-growth priorities for the 106th Congress. This bill takes a major step to eliminating the estate tax by lowering rates. The bill also undoes the damage inflicted on small businesses by changes in the installment sales rules enacted last year. And lastly, nearly every responsible party favors this legislation’s bold pension reforms which will extend participation to employees of smaller companies and increase pension portability.

Support for H.R. 3832 will be considered for designation as a Key Manufacturing Vote in the NAM’s Voting Record for the 106th Congress.

Sincerely,
Jerry Jasinowski
President
