Faris responds to Gore's death-tax plan
Release Date: 06/21/00

Nashville, June 21, 2000 -- Jack Faris, president of the small-business group NFIB, today issued the following statement in response to Vice President Al Gore's death-tax announcement:
"While small business appreciates the Vice President's attempt to hop aboard our death-tax-relief bandwagon, we must continue to urge him to support full repeal so all small businesses can get the relief they need from this punitive tax.
"The Vice President claims that his plan will end the death-tax nightmare for 70 percent of small-business owners, but why stop there? Surely, anyone with a family farm in Tennessee must know that the job isn't done until 100percent of the cows are milked, 100 percent of the hay is baled and 100 percent of the tobacco is cut. Likewise, we should not be content until 100 percent of family farmers, ranchers and small-business owners are free from this death tax."
