NFIB plans to distribute
literature quoting physicist Albert Einstein to
push for comprehensive tax reform and
simplification.
The educational
brochures will be distributed on April 17,
federal income-tax filing day, and include the
quotation: "The hardest thing in the world to
understand is the income tax."
"It
doesn't take a genius to figure out the current
tax code doesn't work," says NFIB President Jack
Faris. America's small businesses are
suffocating under the 5.6 million words and
phrases in the IRS code. As hard-working
Americans file their tax returns on April 17,
small business owners will remind their friends
and neighbors to call on their elected
representatives for a fairer and simpler tax
code.
NFIB's Small Business Growth
Agenda plans to alleviate the death tax, the
payroll tax and the IRS code itself. NFIB
advocates a lighter overall tax burden and a
simpler tax code.
