SUMMARY:
Committee Serial No. 106-14. Hearings to consider H.R. 798 (text, p. 124-199), the Resources 2000 Act, to amend the National Historic Preservation Act and four other acts to establish permanent appropriations for the Historic Preservation Fund from outer continental shelf (OCS) oil and gas leasing revenues for State and tribal historic preservation and fish and wildlife conservation activities.
 
Also considers H.R. 701 (text, p. 200-247), the Conservation and Reinvestment Act of 1999, to amend the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965, the Urban Park and Recreation Recovery Act of 1978, and the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act to reallocate a portion of OCS oil and gas leasing revenues to the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), which provides grants to State and local governments for park and recreation development and fish and wildlife conservation programs, and to increase funding for the urban parks and recreation recovery program (UPARR).
