300 Representatives Cosponsor H.R. 701 and Merit Your Thanks

Thanks in a large part to your phone calls and letters, 300 Representatives have signed on as cosponsors to H.R. 701, the Conservation and Reinvestment Act (CARA), which would guarantee funding of more than $2.8 billion annually for conservation purposes-- and includes $900 million per year for the new Land and Water Conservation Fund. Congressional staff and Representatives alike were impressed by the amount of phone calls generated by this issue, and they responded.

What now? Please thank them! That's a great way to help. Please write a letter to thank your Representative if he or she has cosponsored, and ask them to work with House leadership to see that H.R. 701 comes to a vote. Invite them to tour local conservation projects for which you need funding, so they can see how their vote can make a difference for land conservation in your community.
