Mr. DREIER, from the Committee on Rules, reported the following resolution;
which was referred to the House Calendar and ordered to be printed
RESOLUTION
Providing for further consideration of the bill (H.R. 4444) to
authorize extension of nondiscriminatory treatment (normal trade relations
treatment) to the People's Republic of China.
Resolved, That upon the adoption of this resolution it shall be
in order to consider in the House the bill (H.R. 4444) to authorize extension
of nondiscriminatory treatment (normal trade relations treatment) to the
People's Republic of China. The bill shall be considered as read for
amendment. In lieu of the amendment recommended by the Committee on Ways and
Means now printed in the bill, the amendment in the nature of a substitute
printed in the report of the Committee on Rules accompanying this resolution
shall be considered as adopted. The previous question shall be considered as
ordered on the bill, as amended, to final passage without intervening motion
except: (1) three hours of debate on the bill, as amended, equally divided
among and controlled by the chairman and ranking minority member of the
Committee on Ways and Means, Representative Stark of California or his
designee, and Representative Rohrabacher of California or his designee; and
(2) one motion to recommit with or without instructions.
