Opposition to
proposals to grant permanent NTR status to China despite allegations of human
rights abuses by the Chinese Government; perspectives on consideration of
business and economic interests in deliberations on China NTR status.

WTO, including threats to the domestic trade economy from increased competition;
need to extract human rights concessions from China as condition of granting
permanent NTR status; elaboration on issues related to China human rights
violations.
