On behalf of more than 2,100 member companies that provide two million jobs for American workers, I am writing to thank you for your vote in favor of H.R. 4444, granting Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) status to China. Yesterday's historic vote will certainly be remembered as one of the most important of the decade, and your support is greatly appreciated.

China is the world's single most promising emerging market for the U.S. electronics and high-tech industry. As China enters the Information Age, it will purchase more high-tech equipment from the world's largest supplier -- the United States. Furthermore, the practical effect of China's adherence to its WTO commitments will be of significant benefit to U.S. workers, as well as to the cause of political and economic reform within China.
