UAW Continues Campaign Against Permanent NTR for China

Home What's New Breaktime Feedback Search DC Link

The UAW and a broad coalition of union, environmental, religious, citizen and other progressive groups are continuing to wage a major campaign against efforts to grant permanent Normal Trade Relations (NTR) trade status to China. The Administration is trying to speed up the timetable for Congressional consideration of this issue, pressing for a vote in the House before Memorial Day.

Here is an updated House target list on this China trade issue. It is especially important that we generate as much grass roots pressure as possible on these key swing Representatives.

Please call, write or meet with these Representatives as soon as possible. Urge them to oppose any attempt to grant permanent NTR trade status to China. Tell them not to give a "blank check" to China, so long as it represses fundamental worker and human rights and threatens American jobs with unfair trade practices and import surges.
