Republicans Offer Women's Violence Act in Bankruptcy Bill Deal

Republicans are offering the Violence Against Women Act (VAMA) as incentive to pass bankruptcy.

Democrats are outraged. 

The Violence Against Women Act (HR 1248, S 2787) would reauthorize a 1994 law that established funding for educational programs and shelters for battered women.
