Senator Lott Introduces Republican Revised Bankruptcy Reform Bill

On September 14th, Senate Majority Leader Lott (R-MS)introduced S.3046, a Republican revised bankruptcy reform bill (interestingly, the Congressional Record announced the bill only as one to "amend title II [Roman numeral 2) of the US Code).

The bill was immediately placed on the Senate legislative calendar.  The bill, which can be accessed at http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d106:s.03046, consists of Republican endorsed provisions and appears to closely follow HR 833, but does include Sen. Schumer's (R-NY) abortion clinic violence, a Democrat "must", but also contains language allowing an individual to waive protection of his/her pension.  The bill also has no tax break or minimum wage increase (the latter also arguably being a Democrat "must").

There has been no scheduled floor time for the legislation.
