The Honorable Charles Jeffress
Assistant Secretary of Labor
Occupational Safety and Health Administration
U.S. Department of Labor
Room S-2315
Washington, DC 20210

Dear Assistant Secretary Jeffress:

We are writing to strongly encourage you to add a public hearing on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) recently proposed rule on ergonomics. Currently, no public hearings are scheduled in the Southern, Southeastern or Southwestern United States.

As you know, the ergonomics regulation has generated significant controversy and comment. You have stated that public input into OSHA rulemakings is a priority for you and this administration. We hope this is true and you will consider adding a hearing in the southern region of the U.S. to give all Americans a chance to express their views on the proposal.

Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from you soon on this issue.

Sincerely,

Tom Delay
