National Academy of Science Schedules Ergonomics Meeting
Following Congressional funding for the first ever long-term study on
ergonomics science, the National Academy of Science (NAS) will hold its
first in a series of meetings. A panel discussion on musculoskeletal
disorders and the workplace is scheduled for May 10 in Washington, D.C.
ATA had fought for and won Congressional funding of this study in an
effort to prevent the issuance of any ergonomics regulation that is not
based on sound scientific and medical consensus. Most of the meeting is
open to the public. ATA will attend the meeting and encourages its members
to do likewise to ensure an even and balanced review of ergonomics
science.
