OMB Delays OSHA Ergonomics Rulemaking
Stuart
Flatow Director of Occupational Safety & Health, ATA Oct. 6,
1999
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has
delayed OSHA's bid to issue an ergonomics rule. By extending its internal
review of OSHA's proposed rulemaking, the ergonomics rule may not be
proposed until late October - early November. OSHA had hoped to have the
rulemaking process approved by OMB by the send of September, thus allowing
a formal proposal to be published in the Federal Register in early
October.
