Senate Postpones Action on Ergonomics Legislation

Tell us what you think on the Truckline Message Boards The Senate yesterday elected to postpone final action on an ergonomics amendment offered to the Labor, HHS funding bill by Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO). The action occurred after proponents of OSHA's ergonomics regulation employed several parliamentary delaying tactics, threatening passage of the entire Labor, HHS bill.

According to Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-MS), the Senate will now seek to consider the ergonomics amendment within other legislation that will be passed and sent to the President before Congress adjourns later this fall.
