IOLTA & Other Funding

IOLTA State Funding Foundation Grants Non-LSC Federal Funding Private Bar Campaigns Other Funding Sources

Civil legal aid organizations have diversified their funding dramatically since 1991. These organizations now receive funding from a wide range of sources, including federal agencies (other than the Legal Services Corporation), state legislative appropriations, court fees and fines, cities and counties, bar dues check-offs, attorney registration fees, law firms, corporations, individual donors and foundations.

The ABA Project to Expand Resources for Legal Services (PERLS), Management Information Exchange and NLADA work collaboratively to provide assistance and technical support to individuals and organizations seeking to increase funding for civil legal aid.
