SUMMARY:
Hearing to examine issues
related to lawsuits filed by nuclear utilities against DOE for
its failure to uphold contractual obligations under the Nuclear
Waste Policy Act (NWPA) of 1982 to begin accepting and storing spent fuel by
Jan. 31, 1998, in light of recent U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
decision confirming DOE liability for breach of contract damages to
nuclear utilities.
