BODY:
Higher crude oil prices and rising world demand have helped push U.S. gasoline prices to their highest level in 18 months. Nationally, the average price of gasoline at the pump has risen more than 5 cents to $1.267 a gallon since early July. Since February, prices have risen 26.9 cents a gallon across the country. Prices could continue climbing during August as more Americans take to the road for vacations and weekend outings, analysts said.
