Send the letter below to Vice President Gore,
or better yet, write your own letter. Mail to: Vice President Al
Gore, Office of the Vice President, Old Executive Office Building,
Washington, DC 20501.
Dear Vice President Gore:
Americans clearly support the protection of our national forests
and especially our roadless areas - the last bastions of unprotected
wilderness that provide fish and wildlife habitat, clean drinking
water, magnificent scenery and backcountry recreation.
The temporary roadbuilding moratorium announced on Feb. 11 starts
the process to protect roadless areas. But it's time for the Clinton
administration to permanently protect all remaining Forest Service
roadless areas of 1,000 acres or more from roadbuilding, mining and
logging. Americans want a national policy that protects the
country's last remaining wild forest heritage, forever.
Sincerely,
Name Address City/State/Zip
