United Airlines and US Airways said Friday they agreed to
extend the government's antitrust review of their proposed
mega-merger, meaning that any court challenge of the deal now
could not come before spring. The agreement gives the two sides until April 2 to
negotiate a possible settlement in the $4.3 billion deal.
