Advisory Commission on
Electronic Commerce Posts Dallas Agenda Commission
Holds Final Meeting to Ready Congressional
Report
Arlington, VA - March 17, 2000 - The Advisory Commission on
Electronic Commerce today posted the agenda
for its meeting scheduled Monday, March 20 and Tuesday, March
21 in Dallas. The Commission will continue in-depth
discussions on Monday and consider findings, recommendations,
resolutions and amendments. The Commission will continue
discussions on its proposed report on Tuesday in preparation
for meeting its April 21 deadline for reporting to Congress. A
detailed agenda for the meeting is attached.
"The Commission is confident in its ability to submit a
substantive, insightful, and robust report to Congress on the
issues related to Internet taxation," said Heather Rosenker,
executive director of the Commission. "The Dallas meeting
wraps up the Commissionıs hard work and dedication over the
last year."
The meeting will be held Monday, March 20, from 1:00 p.m.
to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday, March 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. in the International Ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel, 1717
N. Akard St., Dallas. The meeting will also be carried live
via audio and video Web-cast on the Commissionıs Web site
(www.ecommercecommission.org). A verbatim transcript of the
meeting and the archived Web-cast will also be available on
the Commissionıs Web site the week of March 27, 2000.

About the Advisory Commission on Electronic
Commerce
Appointed by Congress in October 1998 as part of the
Internet Tax Freedom Act, the 19-member Commission has been
tasked with studying the impact of federal, state, local, and
international taxation and tariffs on transactions using the
Internet and Internet Access. The Commission's recommendations
are due to Congress no later than April 21, 2000.
