SUMMARY:
Committee Serial No. 106-199. Hearing before the Subcom on D.C. to examine efforts by the D.C. Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA), which is under Federal court receivership, to reform the D.C. child welfare system, including the foster home care program.
 
CFSA was placed under Federal court receivership in 1995 for failing to comply with court-ordered remedial actions imposed under a modified final order (MFO) in LaShawn A. v. Williams, a class action lawsuit brought in light of deficiencies in programs to protect abused and neglected children in D.C.
