HILLEARY  VOTES  TO  END
PARTIAL  BIRTH  ABORTION

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Van Hilleary voted today to end the procedure commonly known as “partial birth abortion.”  HR 3660 bans performance of a partial-birth abortion at any point in pregnancy, except if it were necessary to save a mother’s life.

Today’s vote marks the third time the House of Representatives has voted to ban the procedure.  Both previous attempts to ban partial birth abortions were vetoed by President Clinton.

“Partial birth abortion is gruesome, inhuman procedure and it is unconscionable for us to allow it in a civilized society,” said Hilleary.  “Even though the President has vetoed the previous legislation, life is too important for us not to try again.”
