was referred to the Committee on International Relations, and in addition to the
Committee on Armed Services, for a period to be subsequently determined by the
Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the
jurisdiction of the committee concerned

To amend the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1998
with respect to the adjustment of composite theoretical performance levels of
high performance computers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. ADJUSTMENT OF COMPOSITE THEORETICAL PERFORMANCE LEVELS OF HIGH
PERFORMANCE COMPUTERS.
Section 1211(d) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year
1998 (50 U.S.C. app. 2404 note) is amended in the second sentence by striking
`180' and inserting `30'.
SEC. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.
The amendment made by section 1 shall apply to any new composite
theoretical performance level established for purposes of section 1211(a) of
the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1998 that is submitted
by the President pursuant to section 1211(d) of that Act on or after January
1, 2000.
