SUMMARY:
Committee Serial No. 106-149. Hearings before the Subcom on International Economic Policy and Trade to examine the need to reauthorize and revise the interagency export control program established under the expired Export Administration Act of 1979, to control trade in dual-use technologies which are primarily commercial in design, but have potential military applications.
 
Considers S. 1712, the Export Administration Act of 1999, to reauthorize and revise the export control system, including provisions to exempt from export control requirements certain dual-use technologies with military and civilian applications that are determined by the Department of Commerce to be widely available, and to revise export licensing procedures.
