Welcome to the U.S. Coast Guard's HC-130J
and C-37A Aircraft Acquisition Projects Web site. This site is in tended to
provide information specific to the Coast Guard's project to acquire and convert
the C-130J aircraft to the HC-130J configuration. Additionally, the project will
acquire the C-37A aircraft suitably configured to replace the existing C-20B
aircraft.
In an effort to address declining readiness
and availability rates in the U.S. Coast Guard's aging HC-130H fleet, Congress
has provided funding to acquire the HC-130J aircraft. The HC-130J will provide
improved mission capability for the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as enhanced
safety.
In an effort to address declining readiness
and availability rates with the U.S. Coast Guard's aging CG-01 aircraft, a 1985
C-20B, Congress has provided funding in the Military Construction appropriations
bill to procure the C-37A aircraft. The C-37A will deliver field performance
improvements that provide greater airport access and is being designed for
improved dispatch reliability.
The goal of this site is to provide
information to the public and the Coast Guard community.
