CSA Member Johnson
Controls’ Filteau Named to GAO Outsourcing Panel
(Washington, D.C.) – The Contract Services Association (CSA) today
announced that Mark Filteau, President of CSA Member Johnson Controls, Inc., was
named to a bi-partisan GAO panel that will provide recommendations to Congress
on outsourcing. “We hold a very
high regard for Mark Filteau, as we fully supported his nomination to the
panel,” said Gary Engebretson, President of the Contract Services
Association. “Mr. Filteau will
bring the added recognition to the national discussion of a renowned contractor
performing exemplary work in-the-field.
We believe Mark will bring real-life experience from a contractor’s
perspective to the panel.”
The GAO
panel, to be convened in compliance with the 2001 Defense Authorization Act,
comprises members from industry, the Defense Department, the Office of
Management and Budget, and from labor groups. Twelve representatives will be
seated on the panel, which must present its recommendations by May
2002.
“In
addition to Mr. Filteau, the Contract Services Association sees great merit in
the choices of management expert Stephen Goldsmith and OMB Deputy Director Sean
O’Keefe,” said Engebretson. “These
choices were wise because these folks are committed to seeking a path to ‘new’
government through modernization and privatization.”
Mark
Filteau is President of Johnson Controls World Services, Inc., a
highly-diversified company with a wide range of contracts and joint ventures
producing over $1.5 billion in annual revenue. Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Mr.
Filteau was President of DynCorp Information & Engineering Technology,
Inc. Filteau also served as
President of PRC Public Sector, Inc., one of the leading service providers of
emergency dispatch and policy records management systems and as Senior Vice
President at BDM International, Inc.
He has received rewards which include a Commander’s Award for Excellence
from the Air Force Logistics Command and a NASA Achievement Award for work
completed on the Hubble Space Telescope.
