NAMB to Give
Testimony on Predatory Lending at Senate Banking Committee Hearing July 27
Neill Fendly, CMC, immediate past president of
the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) is scheduled to testify
before the Senate Banking Committee on Friday, July 27. Fendly
joins a panel that will testify before the committee on "Predatory
Mortgage Lending: The Problem, Impact and Responses." This is the
first time in NAMB's history that a member has
testified before the Senate.
The
Senate Banking Committee is holding two hearings on "Predatory
Mortgage Lending: The Problem, Impact and Responses." The first
hearing is Thursday, July 26, with testimony from victims of predatory
lending and other interested parties. Friday's testimony begins with
advocacy groups and finishes with industry associations.
Neill Fendly, CMC, executive vice president of Northeast
Mortgage LLC in Phoenix, is the immediate
past president of NAMB. Fendly has served on the
NAMB Board of Directors, several association and regulatory task forces and
provided congressional testimony on behalf of the association. Fendly testified last year before the House Banking
Committee on mortgage reform and headed NAMB's
National Mortgage Reform Task Force. Fendly was
recognized as the 1999 Mortgage Broker of the Year by NAMB.
The
hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 am, Friday, July 27, in
538 Dirksen Senate Office Building. Press

credentials. Fendly will be available for comment
prior to and after the hearing and by contacting the NAMB Communications
Department.
