student visa application documents for
Mohammed Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi to Huffman Aviation International, a flight
school in Venice, Fla. where Atta and Al-Shehhi received pilot training.
The documents returned to the flight school, acknowledging July
17, 2001 and Aug. 9, 2001 approval of
student visa status for
Atta and Al-Shehhi, were not received by the school until Mar. 11, 2002 after
processing by an INS contractor was completed.
Atta and
Al-Shehhi, who died on Sept. 11, 2001, were among the terrorists who hijacked
aircraft used in the terrorist attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center in
NYC and damaged the Pentagon near D.C.
