To the Editor:
How unfortunate that we have a president coming out against
cloning regardless of any consideration for improving the health of
our citizens (news article, April 11).
It is obvious that Mr. Bush lives in a vacuum isolated from the
realities of the real world.
Healthy loved ones, especially children, make it easy to ignore
the personal tragedies of others. Watching your children suffer
without the ability to help them is the worst experience that a
parent can endure.
The ability to relieve the suffering of millions of human beings
should receive the highest priority. Cloning stem cells for medical
benefit is the right thing to do.
