Osborne Announces Series of Educational Farm Bill Meetings to be Held Across Third District

Washington, D.C.—“The Farm Bill recently signed into law by the President is a complex 421-page piece of legislation, and it is critical that we each understand how it will affect us as soon as possible,” states Rep. Tom Osborne.

“Since this bill will establish farm policy for six years, I believe it is critical that every producer, lender, banker and business person from Fairbury to Gering understands how this Farm Bill differs from past legislation and how it will affect them,” Osborne continues. “So, on Tuesday, May 28th and Wednesday, May, 29th, I will be hosting a series of six educational meetings on the Farm Bill across the Third District.”

Rep. Osborne will present a title-by-title presentation of the Farm Bill, and will be available to answer questions ranging from commodity prices to the availability of broadband deployment loan guarantees. “This Farm Bill will affect most facets of our local economies across the Third District, even for those people not directly involved in production agriculture. I hope you can attend.”

The meeting schedule follows (all times are local):
Tuesday, May 28th:

  •  9:00—10:30 A.M. Ramada Inn, Ogallala
  • 1:00—2:30 P.M. Holiday Inn Express, Valentine
  • 5:00—6:30 P.M. Gering Civic Center, Gering
