Cattle producers have four more opportunities to give policy makers their input about the upcoming farm bill during field hearings scheduled from the West to Midwest.

The hearings are planned as follows: Sacramento, Calif., Monday, May 1; Sioux Falls, S.D., Tuesday, May 2; Boise, Idaho, Friday, May 12, and Peoria, Ill., Saturday, May 13. Members of the House Agriculture Committee will hear comments from selected witnesses. The lists of witnesses for these hearings are completed a few days before each hearing

“Cattle producers who are close enough to attend are encouraged to go,” said Bryan Dierlam, NCBA manager of agriculture and marketing policy. “This will give them a first-hand chance to have their voices heard and considered when lawmakers hammer out the details of the next farm bill.”

All regional hearings are carried live at http://agriculture.house.gov/fldhrg.htm . Informal comments are accepted by email at farmpolicy@mail.house.gov .
