House and Senate Farm Bill conference leaders held a press conference on Friday, April 26, where they announced that they had reached an agreement on the Farm Bill.  They gave an overview of the bill and mentioned a few specifics.

EQIP was funded with a payment limitation of $450,000 for the life of the 6year farm bill. The ban on packer ownership is not in the final bill. Both the House and Senate agriculture committees will conduct hearings reviewing competition and concentration issues.  Country of Origin labeling is in the bill.  It will be voluntary for two years and then become mandatory.  The payment limitation for commodity payments is $360,000 per year.

NCBA is reviewing the language of the bill.  You may also look for information at the House Ag Committee website at http://agriculture.house.gov/.
