Mikulski Disappoints Supporters

WASHINGTON--Despite earning a 100% rating from the League of Conservation Voters in 2001, Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) shocked the environmental community by siding with auto industry by voting against a bill that would have raised fuel efficiency standards for automobiles. Due to her impressive environmental record, supporters felt justified in expecting a pro-environment vote on this salient issue. Unfortunately, they were disappointed.
