A Manual On Gender Sensitive
Indicators (199kb ) The manual covers a wide range
of key gender concerns that have an impact on
reproductive health. A total of 190 indicators have been
included . They are intended to serve only as a
guideline to assist in the development of appropriate
gender sensitive indicators that are relevant to a
particular programme’s goals and objectives. The manual
is organised into nine chapters. Chapter one critiques
the existing health services and presents the rationale
for incorporating gender concerns into health
programming. Chapter two provides an overview of the
maternal health and family planning scenario in India.
Chapter three discusses various types of indicators and
how they may be used to monitor and evaluate how
programmes are achieving their set goals and objectives.
Techniques for measuring and interpreting indicators are
also provided. The remaining six chapters provide a
closer look at the key gender concerns that should be

This guide provides suggestions on using the video
