The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) continues to
work toward its deadline of screening all checked luggage by Dec.
31. Among the multiple tools used by the TSA to screen
checked baggage are the TSA Canine Explosive Detection teams at
airports across the country which TSA will demonstrate at John F.
Kennedy International Airport on Dec. 10.
Canine teams offer mobility and versatility enhancing screening
and explosive detection throughout the entire airport environment.
Adm. James M. Loy under secretary of transportation for security
said "Canine teams give us another highly reliable tool for ensuring
the safety of the traveling public as we continue to press our war
against terrorism."
