Readings: Wolpe and Levine, Part II, Ch. 1-4

 

Note: Justin Zartman will come to class on Monday November 19 at 5PM. Be prepared with questions for him. He is the president of USG and a political science senior. He can discuss student government as well as their lobbying efforts in Harrisburg on behalf of the students.

 

Remember you were divided into four groups. From now on we discuss two cases per day:

 

Monday November 12, 2001

 

First session:

Group 1: Makes the pro-Health Care Reform case from Chapter 1.

Group 2: Makes the anti-Health Care Reform case.

Groups 3 and 4: You are the targets of the persuasion and lobbying attempts and will vote at the end.

 

Second Session:

Group 3: Makes the pro-NAFTA case from Chapter 2.

Group 4: Makes the anti-NAFTA case.

Groups 1 and 2: You are the targets of the persuasion and lobbying attempts and will vote at the end.

 

Wednesday November 14, 2001

 

First session:

Group 1: Makes the pro-Crime Package from Chapter 3.

Group 2: Makes the anti-Crime Package case.

Groups 3 and 4: You are the targets of the persuasion and lobbying attempts and will vote at the end.

 

Second Session:

Group 3: Makes the pro-Cable TV Regulation case from Chapter .

Group 4: Makes the anti-Cable TV Regulation case.

Groups 1 and 2: You are the targets of the persuasion and lobbying attempts and will vote at the end.
